Everything you need to know about Payo
Yes, senders need a wallet with USDC to deposit funds. Recipients also connect a wallet to claim - any EVM wallet works (MetaMask, WalletConnect, Coinbase Wallet, etc.).
USDC is a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US Dollar. It's backed by cash and cash equivalents held in regulated financial institutions. 1 USDC = $1 USD, always.
Recipients receive a Telegram notification when you send them USDC. When they start using the Payo bot (type /start or /balance), funds are automatically credited to their account.
Sending to other Payo users is free! You only pay minimal Arbitrum network gas fees (usually less than $0.01). No hidden fees, no percentage cuts.
Payo is non-custodial. Your funds are held in audited smart contracts on Arbitrum until claimed by the recipient. We never have access to your money. If unclaimed, senders can always refund.
Unclaimed payments can be refunded by the sender at any time. Your money is never stuck - you can always get it back if the recipient doesn't claim within your preferred timeframe.
